All of the lights are down and the Christmas totes stored. I'm a little sad that it's all over. I decided that the best way to lift my spirits would be to fill all of you in on Corbeil Christmas 2011.
Where to begin....
Let’s start with Santa. The big man invited us to have cookies at the Legends Golf Club. You don't turn down an invitation from Santa. Anyway, we chatted and had cookies, colored, all the fun stuff. She liked that Santa was there, but when it came time to sit on his lap, it was a no go. She wouldn't even let me get one picture. There's always next year.
Moving on.
Grandma Monica got to Indy the Wednesday before Christmas. This was huge. Josh hasn't spent a Christmas with his mom in at least 8 years. There was a lot of Grandma and Blake bonding and a lot of mommy time. Thank you Monica.
We had Christmas/Birthday with Grandpa Jan on the 23rd. This was pretty exciting because Uncle Josh brought his girlfriend Karen along. Karen is Jewish, so this was her first Christmas celebration. It was a lot of pressure, but I think she enjoyed herself. Blake completely wore herself out. It was a great day.
I picked up Grandma Viv's tradition of the appetizer/cocktail party on Christmas Eve. This is our 2nd year of hosting and I think Grandma Viv was smiling down on us. There was a lot of food, and drinks and a lot of very loud voices. There was also Uncle Mitchell! It was a true Nies Christmas.
Christmas Eve night we Skyped with the Lennartz crew and then went to Meme & Pappy's house for dinner and gifts. It was an exhausting, but an incredible day.
On Christmas morning we played with all of the goodies Santa brought. We had breakfast and kissed Grandma Monica goodbye. We did a little more Skyping with Ric and Chris as well as Allie and Rory. We ended the day with a delicious dinner at Doug and Linda’s. Whew.
Did you think I was done, ooooohhh no.
The 26th was the first home game of the season. We won, the first of many. Blake was a real pro, not too much fussing.
Josh got home just in time for a kiss and a toast on New Years. If you're curious about my resolutions for 2012, I'll give you a hint...
Any advice or suggestions are appreciated. Happy New Year!
Until next time

It was great to see so many people before I took off for a month! Sorry I missed the Mandelbaum clan. Blake won't forget Santa anytime soon. My wife went above and beyond to make the entire season amazing! Great job babe!
