And We're Waiting

Let me paint a picture. I'm siting in the office writing this post. It's snowing like crazy outside AND I'm having contractions for the 3rd day in a row. I've been sent home from the hospital twice with false labor.  Auggghhh........

In all this insanity I realized I haven't posted anything about all of our holiday festivities. Because I am so pregnant and really wanted it to be a special Christmas for Blake I planned everything out weeks in advance. I need to remember this for the future. We had breakfast with Santa, Christmas Eve with the Nies family at our house, Christmas morning and Tellstrom Christmas on the 26th. We read countless Christmas stories and sang a million songs. It was awesome. I'm not sure Blake will remember our last Christmas with just the three of us, but I know I will.

I absolutely tortured my pour husband because I was so paranoid about not having a Christmas baby. I didn't want our newest addition to have to go through that every year and I didn't want Blake to resent her new brother, so I obsessed about it. I had a doctors appointment Christmas Eve and I was practically hysterical, luckily I made it to January.

Santa was really fun this year. Blake gets it, so she was excited about our little breakfast and she talked about him all month. We went to the Children's Museum and had breakfast, talked to Santa, did crafts and Mimi went down the big slide with Blake. Blake didn't linger on Santa's lap for too long, but she definitely knew what she wanted to ask for this year, a Sofia doll and amulet.

Christmas Eve day we always have everyone over to our house for appetizers and cocktails. I look forward to it all year. There was a little debate this year because SOME people thought it was going to be too much for me. Nonsense! I planned ahead and with a little assistance it was a great party.

Christmas Eve night we went to Mom and Jack's and had dinner and did gifts, also a great time. Uncle Mitchell was big time this year for Blake, we were all happy he was home. Blake is really into games right now, so board and card games we're a huge part of Christmas this year.

I couldn't get the Sophia dress off her this year. It's in a lot of pictures.

Blake had a nasty cold, so she didn't get up on Christmas morning until 9 a.m. It was killing me!!! I made Josh stay in bed and wait for her to come get us. Her reaction to what Santa left under the tree was priceless. She said, "I was on the good list, he came, he came!" I had no idea she was doubting herself.

The day after Christmas the Tellstrom crew came to our house to do Christmas, so fun. We had dinner and a lot of laughs. It was great to have Josh and Karen home from New York.

I always wish that we could see all of our family at Christmas. Someday I'll plan the ultimate Christmas with my entire family. It's good to have goals.

The New Year WILL have a baby!

Until next time
